Streets of Candelaria

Beautiful Candlemas

Walking through La Candelaria is like going back to the past, to ancient places, cobbled streets and bohemian evenings with dim lights that, with the perfect company, will be an unforgettable experience.

We, a group of four people, three Colombians and one foreigner – American, decided to walk its colorful streets without asking ourselves for an appropriate route, nor a planned or drawn path; our intention was to let ourselves be carried away by those narrow streets that intersect with each other, which sometimes make no sense but which will always be a pleasure to walk, a gift that time has left us to tell our story. From the street of Fatiga to the alley of the Embudo, passing by the Chorro de Quevedo and the Hermitage of San Miguel; but in addition to a pleasant tour we felt that we should try everything that place offered us and as foreigners we took the plan seriously, sitting on one of the sidewalks of the Callejón del embudo, a magical place in Bogotá, where we tried the typical “chicha”, but we also added to our shopping list one of its contemporary variations “Chicha with passion fruit flavor” was the one that caught our attention the most, its flavor has surprised us since its combination makes it have a special sweetness. Among its variety of flavors we find grape, bubble gum, strawberry, among other exotic fruits of our country. There were so many options that any expert taster would die to try them.

In addition to unparalleled photos, we took home a story that we will always remember, a unique gift that will be in our memories forever. Because beautiful Candelaria is pleasant and full of surprises for those who dare to visit it and walk its streets!
