This was the battle of Boyacá on August 7, 1819.

We went to the Boyaca Bridge Located 14 kilometers from Tunja and 110 kilometers from Bogotá, this place commemorates one of the largest battles fought in Colombian territory for our independence: The Battle of Boyacá. It took place on August 7, 1819, This battle marked not only the end of the warlike disputes for power in Colombian territory, but also established the independence victory that the country had planned on July 20, 1810.
